Work SMARTER | BYD Forklifts
1998
BYD Starts as electronics manufacturer
Founded in 1995 as a battery manufacturer, BYD set out to design the most efficient and powerful batteries on the market. BYD opened its doors with 20 employees working from offices in an industrial park in Shenzhen, China. By 1998, the company had expanded, opening the doors at its first European subsidiary.
2010
byd starts forklift division
Entering the forklift industry in 2010, BYD began its revolution in the world of electric forklifts. With innovative and environmentally-friendly lithium iron phosphate batteries BYD forklifts run longer and charge faster than those relying on lead acid batteries. They are also completely maintenance free, eliminating the need to halt operations for watering and battery equalization. This results in reduced downtime, ensuring your operation can continue to run smoothly throughout the day.

Iron Phosphate
VS
lead acid BATTERIES
BYD Iron Phosphate Battery Systems are designed and manufactured to provide safe, consistent and reliable energy in the most demanding applications. BYD's Iron Phosphate chemistry was originally designed for utility-scale energy systems that require up to 30 years of service. This extremely stable and reliable battery chemistry is capable of cycling thousands of times with minimal degradation, making it ideal for heavy duty electric forklift applications.
Iron Phosphate VS internal combustion forklifts
BYD’s forklifts that utilize safe non-toxic lithium iron phosphate batteries, create a better work environment with less noise, air pollution and vibration than those where forklifts rely on internal combustion engines. BYD battery electric forklifts also have fewer parts, lowering maintenance costs.

110V CharGers
BYD’s 110-volt “plug and play” charger creates a new charging solution for customers who may not use their forklift across an entire 8-hour shift. Instead of wrestling with a cumbersome 480-volt charging system, customers can plug their forklift charger into a standard wall socket just like a small appliance.
